In this role, the GroupsOnly Business Development Manager – CANADA/USA will be supporting the Groups Department promoting its expertise in group tour planning to all of Goway’s destinations: South Pacific, Asia, Africa, Islands, Latin America and UK & Europe as well as Air Sales to maximize group business whilst delivering superior customer service and professionalism in representing Goway Travel.

Reporting to: General Manager Vancouver and Groups

    Job Responsibilities:

    1. Maintain, develop & grow direct group business within North America with existing repeat clients as well as sourcing new group business utilizing all marketing channels as necessary: sale calls, consumer/trade shows, telephone sales, social media, available databases etc.
    2. Utilizing your superior research & communication skills, you will contact proven travel planners and ‘Pied Pipers’ at all levels in the community: Education, Government, Clubs & Associations, Religious orgs, Businesses, Sports etc.      
    3. Work closely with the assigned Group Sales Coordinator to assist with converting the lead to deposit and conducting follow ups, as necessary.
    4. Work closely with direct group client to help fill the group utilizing all your sales skills and available resources: webinars, online flyers, print flyers, power point presentations etc  
    5. Conduct sales calls, trade shows, group or agency presentations as necessary or as required;
      • 75-80 sales contacts per month are anticipated.
    6. Full-time position, Monday thru Friday and Saturday and/or Sunday as necessary given varying travel, sales call or trade show schedule. Days off may be taken in lieu for weekend work, to be pre-approved;
      • In general, Tuesday – Thursday are territory sales calls days; Monday or Friday appointment & follow up days.
    7. Prepare & execute a Sales Plan including monthly call pattern, area trade/consumer shows inclusive of anticipated costs and other field sales activities.
    8. Utilize CRM system to identify sales opportunities, increase efficiencies and provide timely reporting
    9. Refer any potential FIT or air business to relevant Goway Dept.
    10. Submit monthly (or weekly if requested) sales Summary Activity report, Sales Call List report, and monthly     expense report; Staff Travel Forms as necessary;
    11. Create and/or suggest quarterly sales & marketing promos to engage group clients and grow business from your area of responsibility;
    12. Develop business to achieve yearly budget and to surpass targets as set annually/quarterly by Goway management;
    13. Provide ongoing feedback to GM Groups regarding customer service and any issues uncovered in the field;
    14. Special projects on an adhoc basis
