WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

The Multi-family Trainer reports directly to the Manager, Residential Training and is responsible for the execution of the company’s residential training function. The position encompasses developing, planning, organizing, implementing and facilitating the training throughout the residential portfolio. The Multi-family Trainer is also responsible for maintaining compliance with all company policies, fair housing and landlord tenant laws. 

A FEW OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Create and distribute training schedule, and establish priorities tied to strategic organizational needs and plans for the residential portfolio
  • Conduct regular needs analyses based on various evaluation techniques such as internal needs assessments and the like, to determine training needs and priorities
  • Develop methods to transfer information and techniques from the training sessions to actual on-the-job performance
  • Monitor and update all forms used at the property level as needed promoting consistency and uniformity across the residential portfolio
  • Coordinate and implement transitional training for property takeovers and other training needs associated with the acquisition of properties
  • Organize, coordinate and ensure employee participation in area specific training sessions
  • Offer and coordinate customized training as requested by upper management
  • Monitor standards and control systems (First Impressions and Follow-through) across the communities including: uniform curb appeal, suite upgrades, marketing, leasing, Yardi, payables as well as maintenance standards improving the overall consistency and quality of all services provided
  • Manage MMT maintaining training resource files and participant attendance records
  • Serve as an ambassador and role model of the company (you’re always in the spotlight!)
  • Implement and/or direct implementation of all policies and procedures as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Remain informed of trends in the apartment industry and in the training and development fields
  • Develop, implement and monitor company contests/awards
  • Coordinate the logistical planning and implementation of area meetings, award banquets and corporate social programs 

WHAT WE REQUIRE 

  • 5+ year’s multifamily experience, including experience working in Class A markets
  • 1-3 years training experience
  • Highly effective communicator
  • Proven track record of facilitating performance improvement. Familiarity with Federal, State and/or local Fair Housing laws. Exceptional background managing communities and motivating personnel
  • Computer literacy and intimate familiarity with Yardi Voyager and Yardi Rent Café is a must, experience with Yardi Resident Screening, Yardi Rent Maximizer (or similar revenue management tools), and Yardi Payment Processing is preferred
  • A wide degree of creativity is expected
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
  • High degree of professionalism in presentations both as a trainer and representative of the organization. Must lead by example 
  • Extensive travel is required
  • Passport and ability to travel to Canada is required

Education: College degree preferred. Professional designation (CAM, ARM, CAPS, CPM, etc.) is strongly preferred.
